Mura Region EGTC was registrated by the Croatian and Hungarian partners in June 2015 to strenghten the social-economical cohesion with the improvement of accessibility in micro level and with the evolve of ecotouristical developments for the reason of less environmental impact. Based on existing plans and implemented projects and utilizing the results which have multiplier effects the main destination is to realize a sustainable ecoregion. Mura Region EGTC is a border region of Hungary with unique social relations where not Hungarian-Hungarian but Croatian-Croatian relations are dominating. In addition it’s size and existing daily inter-ethnic relations contribute to the high level of success. This study aims to demonstrate the formation and future potencial of Mura Region EGTC by presenting relevant projects and analyzing their multiplier effects. The research have been completed with detailed legal analysis and interviews with municipal leaders.
